Henriëtte Ronner-Knip was born in 1821 in the Netherlands and died in 1909 in Belgium. She was a Dutch-Belgian artist in the Romantic style who is best known for her animal paintings, especially cats. She made her first painting at the age of 15. She mainly painted landscapes and animal pieces, after that dogs to end with the representation of cats.
